CANTON, NY – The Dickinson men's squash team went down 9-0 to a strong 23rd-ranked Saint Lawrence University on Saturday afternoon.
Inside the Match
Junior Joe Smythe had a tough battle in the top flight with Lewis Anderson, who is one of the best players in college squash. The Devil began strong getting the first game, before losing in four games. First-year Noah George lasted over an hour, including two tie-break first games, to lose in the third flight in four games. Graduate student Sam Knipp went back and forth in the fourth flight but couldn't quite get the job done in the fifth game after going the distance. Sophomore George Vollmer also has his chances in the seventh flight but lost in four games to Harry Robson. Sophomore Aidan Donnan snatched a game in the ninth flight but wasn't enough to get past his opponent. With five of the nine matches going more than three games, with other close matches throughout the tie, the 9-0 scorecard perhaps doing the Red Devils some injustice with how the team played.
