LANCASTER, Pa. – The Dickinson men's squash team fell to the 15th-ranked Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall College by a score of 7-2 in Lancaster on Sunday afternoon. This means the Red Devils finish 6th in the MASC tournament for 2025.
Inside the Match
The Red Devils made the higher ranked diplomats work hard for their victory today, with some exciting matches throughout. The two wins for the Devils came in the top two flights, with Joe Smythe claiming the top spot easily in three games. Graduate Student Omar Ali needed an extra game to see past the diplomats' number two but played the clutch points well and claimed the point for Dickinson. First-year Fabrizio Nunez Ortiz almost stole a point in the ninth flight, racing off to a two-game lead, before his opponent came storming back and claiming the win for Franklin and Marshall. Another first year Derek Du had a battle in the seventh flight. The match went back and forth, with both players winning a game to start the match. In the end however, Tan was a little bit too much and claimed the seventh flight. Sophomore Aidan Donnan also had a stand out performance in the eighth flight but fell in three games.
