CARLISLE, Pa. - Today we continue with our Athletic Trainers Appreciation Month recognition by highlighting our athletic trainer for the Red Devils football, m/w track & field and women's lacrosse program Sean Quirk.
Quirk is in his second year as an athletic trainer here at Dickinson. Growing up in Dover, Delaware, he was a multi-sport athlete, playing baseball, football, soccer, and swimming. After high school, Sean attended Lebanon Valley College where he received his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and his Master's degree in Athletic Training. He was also a part of the LVC soccer team as a four-year starter at goalie. Prior to coming to Dickinson, Quirk gained experience working at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex, Cedar Crest High School, and with the Houston Sabercats professional rugby team. He was then drawn to Dickinson because of the competitive sports teams and abundance of resources. His favorite part of being an athletic trainer at Dickinson is getting to know the athletes and watching them grow as both people and athletes, which he feels is most evident at the collegiate level. The most rewarding part of the job for Quirk is helping athletes through tough situations and knowing that he can bring them a sense of stability. Outside of athletic training, he enjoys watching sports, cooking, traveling, as well as supporting Boston sports teams and Chelsea FC.
Stay tuned to dickinsonathletics.com tomorrow and the rest of the week as we honor the remainder of our outstanding athletic trainers.
