Women’s Cross Country Starts Strong at Misericordia University Invite

Sophomore Liza Barbash finishes second overall

DALLAS, Pa. – The Dickinson women's cross country team officially started their 2025 season Friday evening at the Misericordia University Invite 4k, finishing second overall.

The Red Devils competed against nine squads, including Misericordia, Scranton, Marywood, King's College, Delaware Valley, Wilkes, Lycoming College, Neumann, and Penn State Scranton.

Dickinson recorded a cumulative team time of 1:20:29.30, with an average time of 16:05.90. Sophomore Liza Barbash led the team, finishing second overall in the race running a quick 14:46.10. The time bests her performance in last year's competition, where she finished ninth and ran a 16:10.

Other notable finishes for the Red Devils include Meghan Higgins-Haas who finished 10th, Roma Diak who finished 12th, Meghan McGinnis who finished 13th, and Devon Culberson who finished 14th.

On the Docket
The Red Devils are set to continue the season at the Little Three Championships, hosted by Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg, Pa. on Friday, September 5 with races beginning at 5:30 p.m.
