Devils and Lions Play to a Scoreless Draw in Local Clash

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team held a 12-7 advantage in shots, but were unable to finish off their chances as the Red and White opened 2025 with a 0-0 non-conference draw at Penn State-Harrisburg on Friday night at the Turf Complex.

First Half
  • The Devils had the better of the play in the opening 15 minutes earning two corners and getting shots from Joelle Ma and Maddie St. Amand tasking PSU keeper Alexis Valenta into making one save.
  • PSU got their first chance of the match in the 27th minute when Diana Pon sent one over the top of the net patrolled by Lauren Hollis.
  • Valenta would be called upon one more time in the half as she shutdown Ava Prisco to keep the score at 0-0 going to the break.
Second Half
  • Dickinson came out of the half looking for their first lead of the season, but Valenta was able to turn away Prisco for the second time in the 47th minute.
  • Over the next ten minutes the Lions would earn two corners leading to shots from Kylie Yap and Pon which were both knocked away by Hollis.
  • From minutes 64 to 72 each side recorded two attempts with both of the PSU chances missing the mark, while Bridget Merkel force a stop out of Valenta and Katie Vassilakos sent one wide right.
  • After Hollis denied the duo of Pon and Yap once again, Prisco was kept out twice by Valenta and Norah Heacock was denied at the death to preserve the 0-0 draw.
