WINCHESTER, Va. — The Dickinson women's cross country team traveled to Virginia for the Shenandoah Twilight Open hosted by Shenandoah University Friday evening at the Kernstown Battlefield. Sophomore Liza Barbash placed first for the second week in a row and the team finished in second overall.
Barbash was victorious yet again, finishing first with a time of 18:25.7. The finish is 22.5 seconds quicker than the runner behind her and two minutes faster than the average team time. The sophomore continues her hot streak after her first place, 18:10.8 finish at last week's 5k.
The Red and White finished second overall, tallying 56 points with an average time of 20:25. First-year Meghan McGinnis led the rest of the squad, running a 20:33.6 good for 10th place. Other notable finishes include first-year Roma Diak in 11th (20:36.2), sophomore Devon Culberson in 17th (21:06.6), and sophomore Sophia Kovalski in 19th (21:19).
The race consisted of 46 runners from four schools: Frostburg State, VMI, and Shenandoah. The Red Devils finished first overall in last year's contest.

The Red Devils return to action on Saturday, September 27 for the annual Dickinson Long-Short Invitational hosted in Newville, Pa. at Big Spring High School. Races are slated to at 11:15 a.m. for the 6k, then 12:30 p.m. for the 4k
