GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Dickinson women's cross country team traveled over to Gettysburg for the annual Little Three Championship 5k on Friday evening, finishing third overall. Sophomore
Liza Barbash was victorious, repping the Red and White by finishing in first place.
Crossing the finish line first was Red Devil
Liza Barbash, finishing with a speedy time of 18:10.8. Her finish was over 30 seconds less than the Diplomat who took second place. She improves significantly on her 12th place result at last year's competition, recording a time of 20:04.4, a difference of nearly two minutes.
Other top finishers for Dickinson include first-year
Meghan McGinnis in 12th (20:02.2), first-year
Roma Diak in 13th (20:06.9), and sophomore
Devon Culberson behind her in 14th (20:22.8). Overall, the squad combined for a team time of 1:39.20.9, good for 57 points.
The Little Three Championship is an annual 5k featuring Dickinson, Gettysburg, and Franklin & Marshall. This year's race featured 35 runners across the three schools.
What's Next for the Red Devils?
The Red Devils will continue the season next Friday, September 12 at 6 p.m. at the Shenandoah Twilight hosted by Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va. at the Kernstown Battlefield.
