GRANTHAM, Pa. — The Dickinson men's swim team secured victory over Messiah University, winning 12 of 14 events on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils tallied multiple first-place finishes, highlighted by
Benjamin Brandt's wins in the 1000 freestyle and 400 individual medley.
Individual Swimming
- 1000 Freestyle — Brandt won with a time of 10:44.56;
Tyler Ferenz placed third in 10:55.06.
- 200 Freestyle —
Joe Apat recorded a great 1:55.26 swim for first place;
Matthew Ferenz followed in second, swimming a 1:57.11.
- 100 Backstroke —
Paul Knecht secured second in 55.78;
Cole Newman placed third, with a 1:01.50 swim.
- 100 Breaststroke —
Lukas Nier took first with a great 1:02.55 performance;
Henry Lease came second, with a 1:02.98 swim.
- 200 Breaststroke — Lease tallied a victory, swimming a 2:18.80; Apat followed closely in 2:21.24.
- 100 Butterfly —
Samson Qu was victorious, with a 50.81 finish; Engel placed second in 56.49
- 200 Butterfly —
Paul Florio finished first in 2:08.49;
Damon Buchanan took second in 2:14.39.
- 50 Freestyle — Qu won, with a quick 20.59 finish;
Andrew Kelley placed second in 23.08.
- 100 Freestyle —
Jack Engel took first, touching the wall in 50.89;
Jace Pedicone was second in 50.99.
- 400 IM — Brandt picked up another win, finishing in 4:45.42.
Relays
- 200 Yard Medley Relay — Dickinson A, Nier, Lease, Pedicone, and Kelley, secured first in 1:41.55; Dickinson B, Florio, Engel, Knecht, and
Damon Buchanan, followed in 1:44.50.
- 400 Yard Freestyle Relay — Dickinson A, Kelley, Pedicone, Knecht, and Qu, claimed first in 3:21.58.
What's Next?
Dickinson will return home to face Gettysburg College on Friday, January 30, at 5 p.m. The competition will take place at the Clarke Aquatic Center in Carlisle, PA.
