CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team got double-digits from the trio of
Mia Chapman,
Emma Landes and
Victoria Zerbe, while shooting 43% from the floor en route to a crucial 62-43 Centennial Conference victory inside the Kline Center on Saturday afternoon.
First Quarter
- The two sides traded the opening buckets inside the first two, before a triple for Addison Cadwell and a layup by Lizzie McGrath made it 7-2 with 2:33 gone.
- After a bucket from Emma Afflerbach trimmed the score to 7-4, a triple by Clare Cronley coupled with points for McGrath and Zerbe extended the edge to 14-4.
- Ursinus then got their feet under them and went on an 8-0 burst cutting the margin to just two (14-12) with 1:11 to play.
- Triples were the name of the game during the last minute as Colleen Blackman hit from deep, while Leah Dubin and Jelena Subasic knocked shots home from long-range for the 20-15 lead at the end of one.
Second Quarter
- Subasic stuck another trey and Chapman chipped in two layup within the first four minutes to take a 27-15 edge.
- After missing six straight shots to start things off Anna Chimento finally found the scoresheet at the 5:24 mark. However, the duo of Chapman and Cronley answered for the Red and White two minutes later (31-19).
- Both sides tallied once more over the rest of the frame with Ava Possenti and Landes posting the basket for their respective sides to leave DC in front 33-21 through 20 minutes.
Third Quarter
- The group of Cadwell, Landes, McGrath and Zerbe started things strong going on an 8-3 push to send the advantage up to 41-24 with 2:13 off the clock.
- Ursinus would then claw their way back into the game scoring seven in a row thanks to Erin Glanz and Smith cutting the deficit to 41-31 with half the period to play.
- Layups for Chapman and Smith held the gap at ten (43-33), before Cronley, Landes and Zerbe ripped off seven straight extending the lead to 50-33.
- Chimento and Smith each split a pair at the charity line to finish off the frame at 50-35.
Fourth Quarter
- It took nearly two minutes to see the opening points of the period as Chapman finished off a feed from Dubin, before posting an unassisted bucket next time down the floor for the 54-35 edge.
- The trio of Glanz, Possenti and Smith tallied the ensuing six points to trim the margin to 54-41 with just over four minutes to play.
- Landes would score six of the Devils final eight points as Zerbe notched the final bucket to finish off the 62-43 victory.
