No. 25 Devils Topple Fords for Sixth Straight Win, Before Tripping Up Against Diplomats

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The 25th-ranked Dickinson men's squash team nabbed their sixth straight win on Saturday morning by edging out Haveford College 5-4, before having their run stopped by Franklin & Marshall College 8-1 in the afternoon match of the Centennial Round Robin inside the GIAC Squash Courts.

Inside the Match
Dickinson was dominant at the top of the ladder as Joe Smythe in the number one slot gave up just nine points to Aaryaman Jaising en route to a 3-0 win. A spot behind him Elian Vera posted a shutout of Ben Levy to keep DC in control. At the fourth spot, William Krizek suffered an 11-6 defeat in game one, before racking up three consecutive wins including a tight 13-11 decision in the fourth game. Two matches needed to go the distance with each side claiming one win as Owen Buroker defeated Kai Thomas Schinaman at three, while Qianzhi Zhao bested Derek Du at the five line. James Kiracofe collected the final victory for the Red and White thanks to a 3-0 triumph against Advait Chandramouli. One rung down the ladder from from Kiracofe was Cormac Sullivan who took a game from Dean Ibrahim, but it would not be enough.

Inside the Match
At the top of the ladder Smythe traded games with Kyle Broadhurst, unfortunately the Devil was not able to secure the win in the deciding fifth game dropping a 11-9 decision. Two slots down Buroker nabbed a game from Aditya Chandani, but ultimately was defeated in four. Dickinson's lone win came at number four where Krizek and Toby Clegg-Petri traded the first two games, before Krizek collected wins of 11-6 and 11-8 to win the match.
