Assistant Coach Katie Shoop (Shippensburg '13) joins the Red Devil field hockey coaching staff as they begin training camp for the 2017 season. Shoop brings experience and a strong background in the sport, following an outstanding playing career at Division II Shippensburg University. She was a three-time All-American and helped lead the Raiders to a national championship as both a player and assistant coach.

As a student-athlete, Shoop started all 85 games in her four years as the Raiders posted an overall record of 75-10 while making four straight NCAA Tournament appearances. In addition to earning All-America honors, Shoop was a four-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection, receiving First-team honors in 2011, 2012 and 2013. She was named to the 2013 NCAA Division II National All-Tournament Team and a four-time member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad.

Following graduation, Shoop joined the Shippensburg coaching staff and spent three seasons on the Raider sidelines as they advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2014 and claimed the national title in 2016. She has coached multiple club teams and has worked with Division II Belmont Abbey College and Division I James Madison University.

Shoop graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2013 and received an M.B.A. in 2015.
