Laura Bergin

Assistant Coach Laura Bergin (Gettysburg '17) enters her second season with the Red Devil volleyball staff. She came to Dickinson in 2017, following an outstanding playing career at Gettysburg College.

Bergin led Gettysburg and finished fifth in the conference in kills per set at 3.52 in 2016. Bergin posted double-figure kill efforts in 15 of the last 16 matches of the year, including a career-high tying 26 in a win over previously unbeaten Alfred State University.

Far from a one-dimensional player, Bergin also contributed 2.44 digs per set and tallied 16 total blocks. She finished with eight double-doubles, including a 21-kill, 22-dig effort in a five-set victory at McDaniel College. In eight Centennial matches, she averaged 3.62 kills and 3.31 digs per set.

Bergin finished her career with 1,143 kills, 949 digs, and 100 total blocks in 102 career matches. Her career kills total ranks 11th in program history. Bergin is Gettysburg's first three-time All-Conference honoree since 2011.

She earned a degree in interdisciplinary studies from Gettysburg in 2017. In addition to her All-Conference accolades, Bergin was a two-time selection to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and twice named Academic All-Conference.
