(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson
College women's soccer team scored four goals in the first half en
route to a 6-1 win over Bryn Mawr on Monday afternoon. |
Junior Ashley Kunkle (Perkasie,
Pa./Pennridge) score a pair of goals and handed out
an assist to lead the way for the Devils.
Kunkle put the Devils on the board just 6:48 into the contest
with a header on a corner from Courtney Anderson (S.
Pasadena, Calif./S. Pasadena). Kunkle fed a beautiful
through ball to first-year Hannah Richardson (Chevy
Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) to put the Devils
up, 2-0, in the 14th minute.
Just over two minutes later Ashley Fields (Far
Hills, N.J./Ridge)finished a loose ball in front of the
goal to stretch the margin to 3-0.
Sophomore Sarah Montminy (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns
Valley)then chipped a pass over the defense to
assist Molly Schaefer (Columbia, Md./Archbishop
Spaulding) to close out the half. She served a great
ball on a corner to assist Kunkle's second goal of the game just
2:52 after the break.
Senior Laura Costanzo spoiled the shutout with a long range shot
into the upper left corner of the net with an assist from Lizzie
Robinson in the 72nd minute.
First-year Audrey Scott (Butler,
Pa./Knoch) collected a well-placed cross
from Pam Andross (Alexandria, Va./Georgetown
Visitation) for the final goal of the day in the 86th
minute. Schaefer triggered the play with a nice pass out of the
midfield.
Kailyn Hartmann (Darien, Conn./St.
Luke's) and Annie Weichert (Chatham,
N.J./Chatham) split time in goal, combining for seven
saves.
Rebecca Joseph and Emily McBride combined for six saves in the
Bryn Mawr net.
The Red Devils improve to 11-2 overall and 4-2 in the Centennial
Conference. They are home again on Wednesday, hosting Franklin
& Marshall at 5:00 pm.
