(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson
College men's soccer team rattled off four goals in the final 15
minutes to defeat Haverford College 5-1 on Wednesday night. |
The Red Devils took an early lead as Tyler Meade
(Columbia, Md./River Hill) fed a through ball
to Thomas Parkinson (Westfield,
N.J./Westfield), who beat the goalkeeper just 5:53
into the contest.
The Devils held a significant advantage in shots, 22-2, however
the 'Fords held even for most of the game.
First-year Nicolas Tierno (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber
Creek Regional) struck twice in just a span of 1:09
to put the Devils in control, 3-0, with 14:41 remaining in the
game.
Mike Montross (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy
Chase)received a beautiful feed from Tim
Rahauser (Mercersburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) and
put the Devils up 4-0.
Tyler Freeman finished a corner from Matt Gorski to spoil the
shutout in the 88th minute before Bryan Gilmartin
(Branchburg, N.J./St. Joseph's) closed out the
scoring with assists from Montross and Brad Boehringer
(Stamford, Conn./Fairfield Prep)with just over two minutes
left to play.
Jeff Rickert stopped seven shots in goal for Haverford (6-8,
1-5).Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel
Barlow) turned in a great performance in goal. He was
credited with just one save, but played well all night.
The Red Devils improve to 10-3-1 overall and 4-2 in the
Centennial Conference. They travel to Gettysburg on Saturday to
face the Bullets at 4:00 pm.
