College women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a big 6-0
win over Washington on Saturday. |
First-year Ashley Fields (Far Hills,
N.J./Ridge) had a career day, scoring a natural
hat-trick and assisting on two others. Those numbers tie her for
fourth in single game goals and third for points in a game with
eight.
Sophomore Genevieve Olson (Quincy, Mass./Thayer
Academy)dished out three assists, including the
game-winner on Fields first of the game, just 2:31 into the
contest.
Fields scored again in the 17th minute to put the Devils in
front 2-0 at halftime. She struck again just 2:39 into the second
period off another assist from Olson.
First-years Kim Callaghan (Armonk, N.Y./St.
Luke's) and Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie,
Pa./Pennridge) scored in the 49th and 54th minutes,
respectively before Fields and Olson tallied assists on a goal
by Casey Reilly (Ridgewood,
N.J./Ridgewood) in the 61st minute to close out the
scoring.
Senior Kailyn Hartmann (Darien, Conn./St.
Luke's) made four saves as the Devils held Washington
to just five shots.
The Red Devils improve to 14-3 overall and 7-3 in the Centennial
Conference. They will either travel to, or host Swarthmore in the
first round of the conference playoffs on Wednesday.
