(Huntingdon, Pa.)- The
25th-ranked Dickinson College women's soccer team improved to 9-2
on the season with a 4-1 win at Juniata College on Wednesday
afternoon. |
The Devils scored once in the first half and tallied three in
the second as four different players found the net.
First-year Hannah Richardson (Chevy Chase,
Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) put the Devils on the board
in the 37th minute, scoring on a fast break.
Sophomore Genevieve Olson (Quincy, Mass./Thayer
Academy) would tally the game-winner 12 minutes into
the second half, scoring unassisted as well.
Sophomore Sarah Montminy (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns
Valley)converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute
and Molly Schaefer (Columbia, Md./Archbishop
Spaulding) scored off a Sara White
(Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) assist just 3:28 later
to close out the scoring for Dickinson.
The Eagles spoiled the shutout with 21 minutes remaining as
Elizabeth Van Blarcom scored for Juniata.
Kailyn Hartmann (Darien, Conn./St.
Luke's) made four saves in 82 minutes of action
and Annie Weichert (Chatham,
N.J./Chatham) came on for the final eight.
Kristen Penska stopped three shots as the Devils held a 12-5
advantage in that category.
The Red Devils improve to 9-2 overall. They are off this weekend
and return to Centennial Conference action next Wednesday, hosting
McDaniel at 5:00 pm.
