(Selinsgrove, Pa.)- The
Dickinson College women's volleyball team dropped a close decision
at Susquehanna University, 3-2, on Tuesday night. |
The Red Devils won the opener, 26-24 but found themselves
trailing 2-1 after SU claimed the next two sets 25-11, 25-19. The
Devils forced a fifth game with a 25-19 victory in the fourth.
Susquehanna escaped with the win, taking the fifth set
15-12.
Senior Ely Gosheva (Sofia, Bulgaria/American U. of
Sofia)recorded 14 kills, a pair of aces and 15 digs on the
night. First-yearAvery Zuvic (Cold Spring,
N.Y./Haldane) also tallied a team-high 14 kills,
adding 24 digs and four blocks.
First-year Jessy Cooper (Chantilly,
Va./Chantilly) added 13 kills and five blocks on the
night.
Chelsea Winkert (Cazenovia,
N.Y./Cazenovia) dished out 42 assists and had 21
digs. Kaylee Britain (Wayzata,
Minn./Blake)chipped in with seven assisted blocks.
Amanda Hayes (Midlothian,
Va./Midlothian) and Lauren Yura
(Morgantown, W.V./Morgantown) picked up 18 and 16
digs, respectively.
The Red Devils slip to 3-6 on the season. They travel west to
face Pomona-Pitzer College and Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Friday
night.
