Dickinson College men's basketball team suffered a 65-55 loss at
Haverford College on Saturday afternoon. |
The Red Devils trailed just 26-21 at halftime as
junior Matt Dolan (Chalfont, Pa./St. Joe's
Prep) tallied eight points and eight rebounds in the
opening 20 minutes.
Dickinson went on an 8-0 run early in the second half, taking a
31-30 lead with 15:57 remaining in the game. The Devils stretched
the lead to four before Haverford answered with a 10-2 run to
reclaim the advantage, 46-41.
Dickinson cut the deficit to just a field-goal, 49-47, with 6:11
on the clock. The 'Fords built on the lead down the stretch,
hitting eight straight free throws in the final six minutes.
Dolan finished with a game-high 24 points, adding 11 rebounds
for a double-double. He went 7-for-9 from the field, 4-for-5 from
three-point range and 6-of-8 from the line.
Junior Chris Harrington (Cheverly, Md./Georgetown
Prep) went 4-for-5 from the line for 13 points.
First-year Obi Ollawa (Los Angeles, Calif./View
Park Prep)came off the bench to add 10 points and seven
rebounds. Trevor Kenny (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock
South) chipped in with six points and six
rebounds.
Cameron Baker (Columbus, Ohio/The Columbus Academy) led
Haverford (4-7, 2-3) with 21 points, six rebounds and four
steals.
The Red Devils slip to 0-10 on the season and 0-4 in the
Centennial Conference. The return home to face Washington College
on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm.
