Dickinson College men's basketball team has started to find its
rhythm, posting a big 61-40 win at McDaniel College on Wednesday
night. |
Sophomore guard Chris Heine (Spring Lake, N.J./St.
Rose)turned in another strong performance, scoring a
career and game-high 23 points, hitting a remarkable 9-of-10 shots
from the field. He drained 5-of-6 three-pointers, added five
rebounds and a pair of assists.
The game was a defensive struggle early, tied 11-11 midway
through the opening half. The Devils pulled in front by five, the
biggest lead of the half, with just under 11 minutes to play.
The Devils went into halftime with a 28-23 advantage behind 10
points from Heine and seven from junior Matt Dolan
(Chalfont, Pa./St. Joe's Prep).
The Devils continued to play well after the break, building the
lead to 11 early in the second half. Heine sank a three-pointer to
put the Devils in front 45-28 at the 11:56 mark.
Junior Chris Harrington (Cheverly, Md./Georgetown
Prep) later drained a three-pointer that stretched
the lead to 25 with 6:55 to play in the game. He later hit a pair
of free throws to give Dickinson its biggest lead of the night at
59-32.
Dolan finished with 13 points, a game-high eight rebounds, four
assists, three steals and a pair of blocked
shots. Trevor Kenny (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock
South) reached double-figures with 10 points, adding
four rebounds and a blocked shot.
Marcus Dyson led the Green Terror (8-12, 4-9) with 13 points on
6-of-8 shooting.
The Red Devils improve to 2-16 overall and 2-11 in the
Centennial Conference. They are scheduled to travel to Washington
College for a 2:00 start on Saturday.
