| (Annville, Pa.)- The Dickinson
College baseball team dropped a 12-1 decision at Lebanon Valley on
Tuesday afternoon. The game was originally scheduled for nine
innings but was called for darkness at the end of the seventh. |
The Dutchmen struck early, scoring five runs in the first and
three in the second.
Sophomore Matt Vidal (Bronx, N.Y./All
Hallows) was hit by a pitch and later scored on a
single by Mike Schuster (Malvern, Pa./Great
Valley) in the top of the fifth to put the Devils on
the board.
The Dutchmen pushed across four in the seventh for the final of
12-1 as they improved to 5-3 overall.
Schuster led the Red Devils at the plate, going 3-for-4 on the
day with an RBI. Evan Farha (Potomac,
Md./Churchill) added a pair of hits, going
2-for-4.
Sophomore Evan Fitzpatrick (Ithaca,
N.Y./Ithaca) turned in three strong innings of
relief, recording six strikeouts in three innings.
First-year Andrew Mauro (Washington,
D.C./Mercersburg)added three strikeouts, allowing no hits
and no runs in two innings of work.
Dickinson slips to 2-1 overall. The Red Devils held west to
Arizona this weekend. They will face Brockport State (NY) in a
double-header on Saturday.
