ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Dickinson baseball team got off to a great start on Tuesday afternoon in their conference series opener with Muhlenberg College by taking a 2-0 lead in the first. However, that would be the only lead the Red and White would have as the host Mules racked up 20 straight runs over the first three innings to post an impressive 21-9 victory at Bicentennial Park.

Inside the Game
- Dylan Posencheg began the game with a bang by blasting the first pitch from Shane Ohl over the left-field wall. Will Ferris then walked and Johnny Bruno singled to have runners on the corners for Kyle Bailey. He made it 2-0 by hitting into a 4-6-3 double play. Luke Gartland worked a free pass and stole second, but was left on the bases when Miguel Reich grounded out. The home-half of the frame did not see the Devils keep the lead for long as an infield single for Sean Habeeb gave way to a two-run homer from Jason Hughes tying the game against Ben Myers after one.
- After Dickinson was kept quiet during the top of the second, Muhlenberg came to bat in the home-half and had the bats explode racking up 15 runs on 11 hits to take a commanding 17-2 advantage into the third. The Mules continued to erupt an inning later as a three-run homer by Hughes extended the margin to 20-2 entering the fourth.
- The Red and White dug into the deficit a little bit in the front-half of the fourth against reliever Kieran Mulholland as a single for Reich, hit batsman of Ryan O'Connor and ground out for Aydin Prell set the stage for a two-run single by Matt Conforti (20-4).
- The sixth inning was where the Devils continued to fight during the sixth against James Hopke as with one gone an error and singles from O'Connor and Prell filled the cushions. John Kumpa then worked a walk and Shane Bussard was hit to force home a pair. A wild pitch from new arm Frank Kern let Prell hustle home to trim the margin to 20-7. After the Mules notched an RBI double in the home-half, Prell tacked on a two-run double on the first pitch he saw in the top of the seventh to set the 21-9 result.
