Box Score 2 (Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball team
played a great match against York College, but dropped a
heartbreaker, 3-2, on Saturday. The Red Devils traded sets with the
Spartans, but lost the final stanza in their first match on
Saturday.
York came into the match with a 5-1 record, handing Lebanon
Valley its first loss of the season on Friday. The Spartans claimed
the first and third sets, 25-14 and 25-23. The Devils answered with
25-18 and 26-24 decisions in the second and fourth before suffering
a 15-5 setback in the fifth.
The Devils suffered a 3-0 loss to St. Vincent College in their
final match of the Dickinson Invitational (25-10, 25-22, 25-15),
falling to 0-8 on the season.
Avery Zuvic
(Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) recorded 10 kills, 11 digs and
five blocks in the York match. First-year Emily Kisak
(Columbia, Md./Howard) added seven kills.
First-year Grace
Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) handed out 17 assists
while classmate Joanna De
Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) tallied a
team-high 13 digs.
In the nightcap, Kisak led the way with nine kills while Zuvic
added five and Morgan matched her earlier total with 17
assists.
The Red Devils host Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday night at
7:00 pm.
