Red Devils Turn Back Lions 3-1

(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball team won its first match of the season, turning back Penn State Harrisburg, 3-1, on Tuesday night.

 

The Devils dropped the first set, 25-20, but rallied and grew progressively stronger as the night went on, winning the final three sets, 25-10, 25-9, 25-8.

 

Sophomore Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) and junior Kaylee Britain (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) each recorded nine kills to lead the Devil attack. Britain added four blocks and a pair of aces on the night as well.

 

First-year Jessie Shaffner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) served up four aces while classmate Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) dished out a match-high 30 assists.

 

The Red Devils improve to 1-8 overall. They travel to the University of Scranton on Saturday to face the Royals and Misericordia College in a tri-match.
