(Collegeville, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball
team rallied from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth game
before falling on the road at Ursinus, 3-2, on Saturday.
The Bears took control, winning the first two sets, 25-13,
25-17. The Red Devils came to life, capturing the next two sets,
25-23, 25-19. Ursinus held on to claim another close battle, and
the match, 15-13.
Four Red Devils reached double-digits in kills, led by a
match-high 15 from Liz Norris
(Sourthbury, Conn./Hotchkiss School).
Kaylee
Britain (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) added 12 kills and
recorded a match-high six blocks. Jessy
Cooper (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) tallied 11 kills and
four blocks while Avery Zuvic
(Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) chipped in with 11 kills as
well, adding 14 digs and a pair of blocks.
First-year setter Grace
Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) dished out a
match-high 49 assists. Classmate Joanna De
Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) picked-up
20 digs and Jessie
Shaffner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) added 13
digs for Dickinson.
The Red Devils slip to 3-10 overall and 0-1 in the Centennial
Conference. They return home to host Johns Hopkins University on
Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
