(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's soccer team scored once in each half to post a 2-0 victory over McDaniel College on Wednesday evening. The Red Devils improve to 6-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference.
Sophomore Samantha Friday (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) put the Devils on the board in the first half, scoring off an assist from classmate Rosalin Savoie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and Rosalin Savoie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) in the 13th minute.
Junior Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) converted a penalty kick in the 79th minute to add an insurance goal for the Red Devils.
Dickinson held a significant advantage in shots, 23-3, while holding a 3-0 edge in corner kicks on the afternoon. Kristin Cochran made 10 saves in goal for McDaniel while Jan Woolley came on to make a save in the final 11:57.
Junior Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) stopped both shots she faced on the day to record her fourth shutout of the season. The Red Devils record their sixth shutout of the season as a team.
The Red Devils (6-3-1, 3-2) travel to Bryn Mawr College on Saturday. Opening kick-off has been moved up to 1:00 pm.
