(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's soccer team returned to the win column on Saturday, posting an impressive win over visiting Swarthmore. The Devils struck once in each half and held off a late surge from the Garnet for a 2-1, Centennial Conference victory on homecoming weekend.
Sophomore Olivia Licata (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) scored both Red Devil goals, finishing an assist from first-year Jess Swain (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) in the 29th minute.
Licata struck again in the 67th minute, scoring off an assist from junior Casey Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) to give the Devils a 2-0 advantage.
Sophomore Megan Brock finally answered for the Garnet, scoring unassisted in the 88th minute. The Red Devils would hold on to improve to 4-2-1 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Junior Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) made three saves in goal for the Red Devils. Marie Mutryn stopped six shots for Swarthmore (5-3, 2-1).
The Red Devils travel to #1-ranked Messiah College to face the Falcons on Tuesday. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
