(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball team battled visiting Messiah point for point through the first two sets, but could not come out on top, eventually falling in three games. The Red Devils turned in a very competitive performance, falling 25-22, 25-17, 25-15.
In the first two sets, the teams essentially traded points, leading to double-digit ties in both. The Falcons pulled away late in each set to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Messiah jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the final set and held off a run by the Red Devils.
Sophomore Emily Kisak (Columbia, Md./Howard) led the Devil attack with 10 kills, adding an ace and a pair of blocks. Liz Norris (Southbury, Conn./Hotchkiss School) added seven kills and seven digs while sophomore Samantha Iazzetta (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) recorded five kills, seven digs and an ace.
Sophomore setter Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) dished out 22 assists and first-year Mia Bedford (Winnetka, Ill./North Shore Country Day) recorded nine digs.
Emily Hall led Messiah (2-2) with a match-high 13 digs. Jessica Geib dished out 25 assists and recorded three aces.
The Red Devils (1-4) are home again this weekend, hosting the Dickinson Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
