(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's swim team dropped a 129-76 decision at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. The Red Devils turned in some strong performances, but could not produce the points to catch the Diplomats.
Sophomore Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) broke the school record in the 1,000 yard freestyle, erasing the old mark by more than seven seconds. She clocked a time of 10:43.02, placing second in the event. She added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle as well, posting a time of 5:18.94, and swam the second leg of the winning 400 free relay (3:46.35).
Senior Eva Kolstad (Cheshire, Conn./Hopkins School) won the 100 freestyle (55.40) and swam the lead leg of the free relay. First-year Alexandra Goodson (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and senior Kasia Szulborski (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) rounded out the free relay.
Sophomore Natalie LeBlanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) had a solid afternoon as well, placing second in the 200 individual medley (2:16.06) and the 200 backstroke (2:14.32), and swimming the lead leg of the second-place 200 medley relay (1:58.53).
The Red Devils slip to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the Centennial Conference. Franklin & Marshall improves to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in the conference. The Red Devils return home to host Gettysburg College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
