(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team rallied past Ursinus, 2-1, on Saturday. Senior Ashley Fields (Far Hills, N.J./Ridge) scored both goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and force overtime, then tallied the game-winner with 1:31 remaining in the second extra period.
Ama Achiaw put Ursinus in front, late in the first half, finishing an assist from Valerie Bedrock in the 40th minute.
Fields found the net in a scrum in front of the goal with 13:12 remaining in the match. The teams played scoreless before Fields struck again, collecting her own rebound and scoring to give the Devils the win.
Dickinson held a 20-12 advantage in shots and a slime edge in corners, 7-6. Kara DiJoseph made nine saves in goal for Ursinus as the Bears slip to 2-8-4 overall and 0-5-4 in the Centennial Conference.
Senior Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) made seven saves to earn the win in the nets for Dickinson. The Red Devils improve to 11-5 overall and 5-4 in conference play. The Red Devils have surrendered just nine goals in 16 games.
They return home for the regular season finale next Saturday, hosting Franklin & Marshall at 12:00 pm.
