(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team returned to the win column on Saturday, posting a 3-1 victory at Ursinus College. The teams split the first two sets by identical scores of 25-21. The Red Devils held on for a tight, 25-23, decision in the third and closed out the match with a 25-18 score in the fourth.
First-year Emily Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor) tallied 13 kills and served up three aces to go with six assists on the day. Seniors Sam Iazzetta (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) each added nine kills. Iazzetta also recorded a pair of aces, 10 digs and five blocks.
Junior Jessie Shaffner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) chipped in with eight kills while first-year setter Jenn Morrissey (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) dished out 39 assists and had 12 digs and a pair of aces.
Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) led the Devils with 16 kills.
Kristin Hanratty led Ursinus with a match-high 17 kills and 13 digs as the Bears fell to 7-16 overall and 2-7 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils improve to 6-13 overall and 5-4 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm match.
