(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout in a key Centennial Conference match at Muhlenberg on Wednesday night.
Junior Jamie Martin (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) put the Red Devils on the board, late in the first half, scoring in the 34th minute. Martin received a nice lead pass into the penalty area from first-year Braeden Kelly (Brookeville, Md./Sandy Springs Friends).
First-year Alfred Hylton-Dei (Geneva, Switzerland/Mercersburg Academy, Pa.) added an insurance goal, slipping past the goalkeeper in the 50th minute to put the Devils up, 2-0.
The Mules had some quality chances in the second half, including a pair of dangerous restarts on a free-kick and a corner.
The Devils held a 16-13 shot advantage while Muhlenberg forced seven corners while allowing just three.
Senior Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) added another shutout to his resume', making a pair of saves on the night.
Danny Pinto made one save for Muhlenberg as they drop to 10-5 overall and 4-4 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils improve to 11-3-2 overall and hold on to second in the conference at 6-1-1. Dickinson returns home to face Franklin & Marshall on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
