(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 1-0 win over visiting Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon. Despite allowing a school record low, nine goals on the season, the Red Devils finish sixth in the Centennial Conference standings, just missing the playoffs.
The Red Devils improve to 12-5 overall, finishing 6-4 in the conference. The Devils posted a remarkable nine shutouts on the year as well behind a great senior season from goaltender Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham). The Devils finished with a 0.52 goals-against-average while Weichert posted an individual GAA of 0.65
Senior Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored the game-winner with just 7:16 remaining in regulation.
The Red Devils outshot the Diplomats, 22-6, all in second half and held a 6-0 advantage in corners.
Weichert made three saves on the afternoon while Amanda McGowan stopped 11 shots for the Diplomats as they fall to 12-7-6 and 1-5-4 in the CC.
