(Westminster, Md) – The Dickinson women's soccer team stormed out of the gates on Wednesday, scoring three goals in the first half. They tacked on another after the break to post a 4-0 win at McDaniel College.
Junior Olivia Licata (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northfield Mount Hermon) put the Devils on the board, scoring in the 12th minute with assists from Casey Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and Ashley Fields (Far Hills, N.J./Ridge)
The Devils stretched the lead to 3-0 on a pair of goals from senior Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge). Kunkle scored on the second assist from Fields in the 25th minute and tacked on another, scoring unassisted with 11:37 to play in the first half.
McDaniel kept the Devils off the scoreboard in the second half until the final 10 minutes of the game.
The Red Devils tacked on another goal in the second half as Hannah Richardson (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) netted her first goal of the sason, scoring off an assist from junior Edie Riggs (Frederick, Md./Linganore) in the 82nd minute.
The Red Devils turned in a strong performance, outshooting the Green Terror, 17-7, while holding a 9-1 advantage in corners for the match. Dickinson records its fifth shutout of the season behind three saves from senior goaltender Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham).
Jan Woolley made five saves for the Green Terror as they fall to 5-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in Centennial Conference play.
The Red Devils improve to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference. They return home to face Bryn Mawr College on Saturday at 12:00 pm on Biddle Field.
