Box Score

(Washington, D.C.) – The Dickinson College men's soccer team tied the game in the 82nd minute and claimed their 2012 season opener at Catholic University, scoring just 1:12 into the extra-frame on Saturday.

Junior Javier Mena (San Salvador, El Salvador/The American School) slipped behind the defense to net the game-winner, scoring off an assist from first-year Braeden Kelly (Brookeville, Md./Sandy Springs Friends).

Junior Jamie Martin (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) tied the game with his second goal of the afternoon, lofting a shot over the Cardinal goalkeeper to force the game into overtime.

Catholic struck first as Ian Smith headed in a cross by Justin Oloriz in the 22nd minute. Martin tied the game off an assist from Mena early in the second half. Smith answered in the 56th minute but it would be Martin with the final strike in regulation.
