(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a 2-1 win over visiting Franklin & Marshall. The Red Devils rallied from behind to improve to 8-6-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the Centennial Conference.
Junior Nicole Rynecki gave the Diplomats an early lead, scoring off an assist from Alexa Yarish, just 6:01 into the match.
Senior Rosalin Savoie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) pulled the Red Devils even, finishing an assist from Michaela Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) in the 20th minute.
Sophomore Jenna Lamb (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary) netted her ninth goal of the season, with just over 22 minutes remaining in the half. She was assisted by classmate Erin Sutphen (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) to put Dickinson in front, 2-1.
The match would go scoreless the rest of the way. The Red Devil defense was dominant in the second half, allowing just one shot. Sophomore Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made a save in each half to earn the win in the nets.
The Diplomats forced six corners in the second half, but failed to generate any shots. The Red Devils tallied two corners in each half. They outshot F&M, 18-5, holding a 10-1 advantage in the second half.
The Diplomats fall to 5-7-3 and 3-4-2 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils travel to McDaniel College for the regular season finale, next Saturday. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
