(Haverford, Pa.) – The #23-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship game for the second team in three seasons, turning back top-seed Haverford College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Senior forward Derek Kachadurian (Weston, Mass./Weston) led his squad to the final, netting both goals from just inside the 18 yard line. He tallied both goals in the second half, scoring his ninth and tenth of the season in the 69th and 80th minutes of the match.
Kachadurian moves into a tied for fifth all-time at Dickinson with 68 points in his career, scoring his 26th goal to go with 16, career assists.
First-year Jeremy Palcan (Park Ridge, Ill./St. Ignatius Prep) earned the start in goal, posting the shutout behind four saves on the day.
The match was even, statistically, with the Red Devils holding a slim, 15-13, advantage in shots. The 'Fords held the edge in corners, 6-2, while fouls balanced out at 18-16.
Sam Miller made three saves in the nets for the host 'Fords as they slip to 11-5-2 overall.
The #4-seeded Red Devils improve to 14-4-1 overall. They advance to face #3-seed, Franklin & Marshall at 1:00 pm on Sunday at Haverford's Walton Field.
