(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback at Swarthmore, falling to 0-2 in the Centennial Conference.
The Garnet opened strong, claiming the opening set, 25-15, and pulling in front, 2-0, with a 25-11 decision in the second. The Red Devils continued to battle until the end, playing to a 25-22 finish in the third and final set.
Danielle Sullivan led Swarthmore with match-highs of 19 kills, 13 digs and four block assists. Brone Lobichusky added 12 kills while Sam DuBois handed out 39 assists and recorded 10 digs.
Senior Emily Kisak (Columbia, Md./Howard) and sophomore Laura Silverman (Marlborough, Mass./Marlborough) each led the Devil attack with eight kills.
Senior Joanna De Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) added four kills and eight digs while classmate Grace Morgan (Williamsburg, Va./York Suburban) recorded 11 digs.
Sophomore setter Jenn Morrissey (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) handed out 24 assists and tallied eight digs and a block assist on the day.
The Red Devils slip to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference. They travel to Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday evening for a 7:00 pm match.
