Box Score
(Allentown, Pa.) – The #22-ranked Dickinson women's soccer team scored twice in a span of just 33 seconds to remain unbeaten in the Centennial Conference with a 2-0 win at Muhlenberg College on Saturday.
Senior Allie Young (New Canaan, Conn./St. Luke's) put the Devils on the board, just 4:33 into the second half, putting away a long pass into the penalty area from junior Jenna Lamb (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary).
Lamb wasted little time doubling the score, finishing an assist from senior Jess Swain (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends), just 33 seconds later.
That would be all the scoring in the game as the teams played scoreless through the first half. The Red Devils held a 4-1 advantage in shots in the first half of what would prove to be a relatively even game, statistically.
The Red Devils finished with an 11-8 edge in shots while each team forced four corners, all in the second half. Jen Mermelstein made four saves for Muhlenberg, facing six shots on goal.
Junior Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made five saves in the nets for Dickinson.
The Red Devils are off to one of the best starts in school history, improving to 9-1 on the season and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to host McDaniel College at Miller Memorial Field on Wednesday afternoon. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
