Box Score

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team took another big step in its Centennial Conference title defense, turning back second place McDaniel, 83-61, at the Kline Center on Wednesday night.

Senior guard Adam Honig (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) opened the game with a three-pointer and sophomore Brandon Angradi (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) knocked-down back-to-back triples to give the Devils an 11-6 lead, three minutes into the game.

McDaniel answered to take the lead but Honig buried another three-pointer to give the advantage back to Dickinson. The lead remained within four points until a Brian Gerney (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) three-pointer stretched the margin to seven at the 7:14 mark.

McDaniel trailed, 32-29 before the Devils closed out the half with an 8-0 run. Tucker Landy (Durham, Conn./Xavier) hit a jumper and a three-pointer, and Angradi hit another in the final minute to put Dickinson in front, 40-29, at halftime.

Gerry Wixted (Moorestown, N.J./Camden Catholic) started off the second half with a three-pointer as Dickinson would continue to build the lead. Dickinson went to the foul line for the first time in the game, at the 15:33 mark of the second half. Wixted hit a pair to stretch the margin to 50-33.

Everything was falling for the Red Devils as they shot 55 shot percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the arc. Even the half-court shot by senior Colleen McCabe '14 at halftime found the bottom of the net, setting the stage for a strong second half. At halftime of the women's game, Kaiden Boresow hit his attempt, lighting up the Kline Center.

The Red Devils led by as many as 27 in the final minutes, adding five three-pointers after the break. Dickinson knocked-down 13 for the game and hit 12-of-13 free throws to shoot 92 percent from the free throw line.

Wixted led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. He hit 6-of-7 shots from the floor and went 6-for-6 from the line. Angradi finished with 18 points, hitting four three-pointers on the night.

Honig knocked-down four three-pointers as well, scoring 16 points to go with three assists and a pair of steals. Landy reached double-figures with 12 points and a game-high four assists.

Tim Stewart led McDaniel (16-6, 11-4) with 16 points and four rebounds while Evan Pupelis added nine points.

The Red Devils improve to 18-4 overall and 13-2 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road for the next two games, traveling to Johns Hopkins on Saturday for a 1:00 pm tip-off, and then to Muhlenberg on Wednesday night.
