(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams put up a fight against conference frontrunner Gettysburg on Wednesday night, but the Bullets came out on top to remain unbeaten on the season. The Red Devil men were right there until the end, falling 109-96, while the women suffered a 124-81 setback.
Senior Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) had a great night, winning two events to lead the Red Devil women. She captured the 1000 freestyle and joined the winning 200 free relay. She clocked a time of 10:55.27 to win the 1000 and posted a time of 5:21.58 to place second in the 500 freestyle.
First-year Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:42.82) and won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.11. She swam the lead leg of the medley relay that placed second with a time of 1:54.56.
Sophomore Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) anchored the medley relay and swam the lead leg of the free relay. She won the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 54.93.
Senior Natalie LeBlanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:47.95 while first-year Lindsay Morton (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) touched the wall second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.47.
First-year Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) joined the medley relay and placed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.84). Junior Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) added third place points in the 200 freestyle (2:01.20) and was fourth in the butterfly at 1:02.76.
The Red Devils slip to 9-3 overall and 4-2 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Saturday, hosting Swarthmore College on Senior Day at 2:00 pm.
