(St. Davids, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team had another strong outing, posting a 4-0 win at Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils struck twice in the opening half. Junior Jenna Lamb (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary) put the Devils on the board, scoring off an assist from Jess Swain (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington) in the 25th minute.
First-year Andrea Caya (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) tallied her third goal of the season with a helper from senior Allie Young (New Canaan, Conn./St. Luke's) with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half.
The Red Devils stretched the margin to 3-0, capitalizing on a corner off the foot of senior Cate Maugle (Glenmoore, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) in the 53rd minute. Maugle served a ball into the box and sophomore Jillian Marini (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) won the battle to put the ball in the back of the net.
Young netted her fifth goal of the season, converting a penalty kick to close out the scoring in the 70th minute.
First-year Amanda Masterson (Essex Falls, N.J./West Essex) earned the start in goal, making two saves in the first half. Sophomore Deanna Ballard (Smithtown, N.Y./Monticello, Va.) came on to complete the shutout with a clean second half.
The Red Devils improve to 4-0 on the season. They return home to face Shenandoah University on Wednesday night. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
