(Selinsgrove, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team picked-up its first win of the season, sweeping the University of Misericordia, 3-0, on Saturday morning. The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 setback to Centennial Conference neighbor Gettysburg in their second match of the day.
Sophomore Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) led the attack with 10 kills, adding three service aces and a pair of blocks.
Junior Emily Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor) tallied seven kills in the win, recording five digs, two aces and a pair of blocks. First-year Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) added five kills, seven digs and a solo block.
Junior setter Jenn Morrissey (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) dished out 22 assists to go with seven digs while Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) posted a team-high nine digs and served an ace.
Smith led the way against Gettysburg, recording eight kills and five digs. Ahern added four kills and five digs. First-years Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and Lauren Beecher (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) tallied six and five kills, respectively, while Park added four digs and three aces.
Misrok matched her dig total from the first match, adding another ace as well. Morrissey had 21 assists and two aces.
The Red Devils slip to 1-5 on the season. They return for their home opener on Wednesday night, hosting Penn State Harrisburg at 7:00 pm.
