(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swimming team suffered a tough loss to visiting Franklin & Marshall, falling 116-89, on Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center.
Junior Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) had a strong showing, anchoring the 400 medley relay to a win, and swimming the lead leg of the winning 400 free relay as well. She added a silver in the 200 individual medley.
Senior Johanna Fleming (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) anchored the winning free relay, touched the wall first in the 100 freestyle and added a third place finish in the 100 freestyle
Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) and first-year Brenna Nimkoff (Weston, Conn./Weston) swam well in the distance events, going two-three in both the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle, respectively. Brennan also joined the winning 400 free relay.
Senior Alex Melchiorre (Voorhees, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) swam the second leg of the winning free relay, placing second in the 50 free and third in the 100.
First-year Elizabeth Smith (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) struck gold with the medley relay and captured silvers in the 200 backstroke and breaststroke events. Classmate Callie Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) swam the lead leg of the medley and placed third in the 50 free and fourth in the 200 backstroke.
Sophomore Lindsay Morton (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) was a double-winner, claiming the 200 butterfly and swimming the third leg of the medley relay.
The Red Devils slip to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Gettysburg College on Wednesday night to face the Bullets at 7:00 pm.
