(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at Haverford College on Saturday as the 'Fords improved to 5-0 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils took an early lead as senior Alfred Hylton-Dei (Geneva, Switzerland/Mercersburg Academy, Pa.) scored on a free-kick, just outside the penalty area, 7:36 into the match.
The lead was short-lived however, as Tejan Wolcott finished an assist from Michael Carr, just over a minute later to pull Haverford back even.
The 'Fords took the lead with just under 10 minutes to play in the first half, countering with a free-kick of their own, to lead 2-1.
Haverford tacked on a late goal as Sam Yarosh collected a ball in the midfield and hit a long strike into the net for the final of 3-1.
The game was relatively even, statistically, with Haverford holding a slim lead in shots, 17-16, and a 6-3 advantage in corners.
Sam Miller finished with five saves for the 'Fords while junior Jeremy Palcan (Park Ridge, Ill./St. Ignatius Prep) made six stops for the Red Devils.
Haverford improves to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the CC. The Red Devils slip to 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play.
The Red Devils return home to face the University of Scranton on Wednesday night. Opening kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
