(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team scored a late goal to win its season finale, turning back visiting Franklin & Marshall, 1-0, on senior day at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils turned in a strong performance, dominating play throughout the match. Dickinson held a 14-1 shot advantage in the first half, but nine saves by Shannon Johnson-Finn kept the Devils off the scoreboard.
Johnson-Finn added 11 more saves after the break, but one would slip through as first-year Olivia Termini (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) blasted a shot from long range to send the seniors off with a win.
All eight seniors started the game for the Red Devils. Senior goalkeeper Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate-Rosemary Hall) posted her 12th career shutout, making four saves in the nets for Dickinson.
In a display of great sportsmanship, Franklin & Marshall allowed seniors Ashley Brennan (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) and Madison Lawson (Duxzbury, Mass./Duxbury) to start their final game as a Red Devil, despite being injured.
The Red Devils outshot the visitors, 30-6, and held a 13-1 advantage on corners for the match. F&M closes out the season, 3-11-3 overall and 1-8-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils finish 8-7-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the CC.
