Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team faced another strong opponent on Tuesday night, hosting visiting Gettysburg in the Kline Center. The Bullets would come away with a 77-58 win to improve to 4-1 to start the season.
Senior guard Brandon Angradi (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) hit a pair of three-pointers to become the school's all-time leader, hitting the 205th of his career. He overtakes Adam Honig's '14 career mark of 204, becoming just the second player in program history to reach 200. Brad Litchfield '06 was just one away of that distinction, holding the previous school record of 199, set in 2006.
The teams traded baskets in the early going, playing to 12-12 tie at the 12:10 mark of the first half. The Bullets put together a run as Pete Christ hit a jumper and a three, and Matt England finished a three-point play to make the score, 20-12.
First-year Michael Jurzynski (Pearl River, N.Y./The Master's School) hit a three before Gettysburg went on an 8-0 run to lead, 28-15, with just under six minutes to play in the half.
Dickinson cut the lead to nine on two occasions before Gettysburg took a 36-25 lead into the break.
Angradi cut the lead to eight, 10 seconds into the second half, tying the school record for three-pointers made. The Bullets quickly countered, using a 7-0 clip to lead by 15 at the 18:08 mark.
The Devils traded field-goals with Gettysburg holding a 13 point lead with just under 16 minutes to play in the game. Cam Stewart and Christ combined to hit three straight three-pointers to stretch the lead to 56-34, with 13:56 remaining.
Angradi came back, hitting his second three-pointer and first-year Elijah Wright (Orange, N.J./The Pennington School) went on a run of his own, scoring on three straight possessions.
That cut the deficit to 17, with 11:32 on the clock. The Bullets built the lead back to 20 and were content to trade field-goals down the stretch.
Christ hit four three-pointers for a game-high 22 points. Cody Kiefer and England tallied 17 and 15, respectively, and Kevin Gladstone added 11 points and eight assists to lead the Bullets.
Angradi led the Devils with 10 points. Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa./York Suburban) tallied eight points, seven rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists and a steal. Jurzynski added eight points while Robert Picka (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) chipped in with eight points and four rebounds. Chris McNeal (Collegeville, Pa./Episcopal Academy) dished out four assists and blocked two shots, adding three rebounds and a steal as well.
The Red Devils slip to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Saturday, hosting Haverford College at 4:00 pm.
