Dickinson seniors Alfred Hylton-Dei (Geneva, Switzerland/Mercersburg Academy, Pa.) and Ned Wagner (Washington, D.C./Upper Canada College) were both named to the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Men's Soccer Team, announced on Thursday afternoon. Hylton-Dei was named a Second-team forward while Wagner earned Second-team honors on defense.
Hylton-Dei made his second straight appearance on the All-Centennial Conference First-team this season. The senior forward had had an outstanding season to cap a brilliant career as a Red Devil. He ranked third in the conference in goals, and fourth in points and assists. Hylton-Dei tallied career-bests of nine goals and seven assists to lead the team with 25 points.
Hylton-Dei ranks in the top 10 in program history with 63 points, ranking 11th with 23 goals scored and fifth all-time with 17 assists in his career. His seven assists rank him sixth on the single season list as well. The seventh was arguably the biggest as he served a beautiful ball on a corner to record the assist on the game-winner at #4-ranked Franklin & Marshall in the regular season finale.
Wagner also made his second straight appearance on the All-Conference squad, moving up to the First-team after garnering Second-team honors last fall. He moved into a starting role as a sophomore and has anchored the defense from a center back position ever since. The Red Devils posted seven shutouts this season, finishing strong with back-to-back clean slates against nationally-ranked F&M in the regular season finale and in the conference semifinals.
Wagner and the Red Devils recorded 32 shutouts over the past four seasons, twice coming within one of the season record, blanking opponents nine times in 2012 and 2013. This season, Dickinson ranks second in the CC with a remarkable, 0.86 goals-against-average, while holding opponents to just 17 goals on the year.
The Red Devils finished 13-5-3 overall, earning the program's fifth consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament. Dickinson has made an appearance in the Centennial Conference playoffs in eight of the past nine seasons.
