The Red Devils struck first as first-year Connor Murphy (Summit, N.J./Summit) scored off an assist from classmate Mitchell Andres (East Lyme, Conn./Berkshire) at the 12:40 mark of the opening quarter.

Lynchburg countered, scoring five straight to take a 5-1 lead at the end of the first period. Dickinson scored first in the second but would face a similar result as the Hornets added four goals to take a 9-3 advantage into the break.

Lynchburg capitalized on a pair of extra-man opportunities, and scored with just five seconds remaining to take a 9-3 lead into halftime.

Lynchburg scored at the 7:45 mark before Chris Jones (Bellmore, N.Y./Bellmore JFK) netted an extra-man goal, off an assist from Kendall, with 5:19 to play in the third. Tyler White (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) sandwiched a pair of goals around a strike from defensive midfielder Ace Sudah (Franklin Park, N.J./St. Joseph's).

McGuire scored again and then assisted Austin Stewart on his fourth of the game to give the Hornets a 12-7 advantage, heading into the final stanza.

The teams traded goals over the opening eight minutes of the quarter for the final of 14-9. Murphy returned the favor, feeding Andres, and Chris Menard (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 6:55 mark.
