(Latrobe, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team played three strong sets, but dropped at 3-0 decision at Saint Vincent College in Tuesday's season opener.

The Bearcats opened with a 25-19 win in the first set and survived a tight second, 25-23. They closed out the match, holding off the Devils, 25-18 in the third set.

Senior Emily Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor) led the attack with six kills and five digs while first-year setter and sister, Hannah Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor), tallied a match-high 15 assists.

Junior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) recorded 16 digs and added four assists while senior Rachel Smolskis (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) added seven digs.

Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and Lauren Beecher (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) each tallied five kills.

The Red Devils travel to the Moravian College on Friday and Saturday for the Greyhound Invitational.
