(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Swarthmore College on Saturday as the Garnet improved to 11-3 on the season.

The hosts came out strong, taking the first set, 25-9. The Devils had better showings in the second and third, but fell, 25-17 and 25-16.

Dickinson led in the second set, pulling in front, 12-9, at one point. Swarthmore strung together an 11-2 run to regain the momentum at 20-14. The Garnet continued with another quick start in the third, jumping out to a 13-2 advantage.

The Red Devils weren't quite done, putting together a rally to cut the deficit to 19-14, before Swarthmore was able to close out the match.

Sarah Wallace led the Garnet with 16 kills and 10 digs while Sam DuBois handed out 32 assists.

Junior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) led the Red Devils with a game-high 22 digs. Senior Emily Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor) tallied six kills and five digs while junior Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) added six kills as well.

Hannah Smith (Victor, N.Y./Victor) handed out 18 assists to go with nine digs.

The Red Devils slip to 6-10 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Muhlenberg College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
